Powerboat Racing is coming to the 2019 Poole Harbour Boat Show!

Organisers of the 2019 Poole Harbour Boat Show (PHBS), in association with Sunseeker, have announced that Power Boat Racing is to be a part of this year’s Show.The 2019 Fortitudo Property Poole Bay 100 Offshore Powerboat race marks the opening round of the 2019 UKOPRA World Offshore Championship. The race organisers will make Poole Harbour its base over the weekend of the Boat Show and use pontoons at the event as their wet pits.  Power Boats will arrive from Friday 7th and racing will take place on Saturday 8th June in Poole Bay. PHBS Marketing Director Tracy Payne advised, “We are thrilled to have forged this new partnership for 2019 and to welcome Fortitudo Property Poole Bay 100 Offshore Powerboat Racing to Poole.  We are always keen to attract new audiences to our ever-growing Show and add new levels of interest for our visitors. We would urge visitors to head down to the quayside and view these impressive boats.”


Powerboat Event Director, John Moore commented on the tie-up between the PHBS and the offshore race. He enthused, “It will be an amazing opportunity for the general public and Boat Show attendees to view the race boats at close quarters and chat to the crews. We hope to have around 25 entries. 

“The top two seeds in the Marathon Class A category are the 38’ Outerlimits, 2000 HP boat, crewed by the experienced Exeter-based duo of Andrew Langdon and Miles Jennings. Italian, Maurizio Schepici has entered his diesel-powered Tommy One.”

With over 32,000 people in attendance in 2018 the PHBS, organised by Poole Harbour Commissioners, continues to be the biggest-ever, FREE to attend Boat Show on the south coast. The Boat Show’s ambitions and theme are to get people ‘on the water’, irrespective of age, ability or budget.
