Coleman Marine enjoy the success of the 2022 Palma International Boat Show

Coleman Marine Insurance, a Gallagher Company, enjoyed their presence at the 2022 Palma International Boat Show.  Described as ‘bigger and better than ever, the show opened on April 28th and ran until 1st May and reported record visit numbers.

The show, which has grown to become one of the most important and popular in the Mediterranean, included 276 participating companies representing a 21 percent increase on 2021. Visitors enjoyed a diverse mix of sailing superyachts, motor yachts and a growing segment of hybrid and electric boats.

The Palma Superyacht Village was particularly popular, for the sale and charter of boats over 24 metres in length. The Village also hosted a brand-new area dedicated to crews, where specialised activities and training were held, a commitment said the organisers to growth in the coming years.

Coleman Yacht Executive Tony Pauffley said, “It’s so refreshing to be back at boat shows, embracing a return to normality post pandemic. There was certainly a lot of positivity amongst exhibitors, many reporting a surge in demand for products.

“It has been particularly good to reconnect with our colleagues in the industry and meet existing and new clients.”

Tony chatted with Christopher Head, MD Sunseeker London Group, who advised, “Sunseeker is showcasing a 90 Ocean, a 76 Yacht, a Predator 74 and a new 65 Sport Yacht. It feels like we’re back to old times pre covid, with lots of positivity on all sectors of the market and we’re enjoying sales.”

Russell Currie, Dealer Principal for Princess yachts in Northern Mallorca said, “It is fabulous to see so many Princess Yachts on display at an international boat show and to be in an environment to retail face to face once again, it’s a wonderful feeling. We’re displaying 4 Princess’ – from the V55 to Y85.

“Princess is currently busy developing new models which the world will be seeing very soon.”

Nick Hatfield Sales Manager Sanlorenzo Yachts UK said, “We are regular exhibitors at Palma.  It’s much busier than last year, there’s lots of boats and lots of visitors!  Many more UK clients are flying out especially to visit the show and they’re making purchases. There’s a greater desire by many people to get on the water and shows like this will always be the ultimate environment to showcase our ranges.

“We are displaying the San Lorenzo SX76 and SL90A. The BlueGame BG54 is on its world launch at the show.”

Tony caught up with Mike Evans MD at Rapid Marine. The business designs and manufactures award winning deck fittings which allow tenders and jets to be secured to bathing platforms or fly bridges.  Mike said, “It’s our first time in Palma, exhibiting with Origin-Marine, our Spanish distributor. It’s great to be here in the sunshine and showcasing our products to the marine community.”

Paul Roberts, Dealer Sales Manager at Williams Jet Tenders advised, “It’s an important show for us, more so year by year.  It’s an opportunity to meet our customers and the location is perfect for our product as there are so many boats on the island and customers appreciate the quality of our products.”
